Clean Isn’t Always Fresh

Clean Isn’t Always Fresh
Your backyard should be the easiest place to relax. But when odor lingers, it quietly becomes the one place you avoid. You head back inside on that perfect evening, you cringe when guests step out back, and the outdoor space you put time and money into goes unused all spring, summer, and fall.
A fresh yard isn’t a luxury. It’s the difference between a yard you tolerate and one you actually enjoy.
Why Your Yard Still Smells After the Poop Is Gone
While scooping may remove the dog waste, it doesn’t remove what soaked into your yard. Urine is loaded with uric acid that dries into crystals and locks into the soil. Even after a thorough scoop, bacteria and residue from the waste stay trapped in the grass and thatch.
Then add a little moisture, like dew, rain, or even a humid Omaha afternoon, and it all reactivates, releasing that sharp odor all over again. The yard may look spotless, but it hits you the second you step outside. And since your dog keeps going, the smell keeps building.

What Yard Deodorizing Takes Care Of

What Yard Deodorizing Takes Care Of
Some areas hold odor far longer than others, and those are exactly what a deodorizing treatment targets:
- Favorite bathroom spots your dog returns to again and again
- Kennels, dog runs, and pens
- Patios, decks, and other hard surfaces where smell clings
- Shaded or low areas that stay damp and never fully air out
It’s especially worth adding if you have multiple dogs or a smaller yard that takes heavy daily use. The harder your yard works, the more a regular treatment keeps it smelling fresh.

Turns out, people in Omaha get really excited about not stepping in dog poop. But don’t take our word for it. Check out what your neighbors are saying about Turd Terminators®.
Superior service compared to our last company. Consistent communication and incredibly thorough job. Even going above and beyond picking up some wrappers the puppy brought out. Very happy to have this job off my list and know that it’s done well!

Amazing service! We have 3 medium and large dogs, and the thoroughness of their pickup is well above any other company we’ve used in Omaha. Even with tons of leaves on the ground, they didn’t leave much, if any, behind. Cannot recommend them enough!!!

Kristin and her husband are both wonderful!! I had such a great experience with their company! The communication is phenomenal and they just loved on my dog which makes me so happy! I watched them literally walk my entire backyard and sift through all the leaves to find all the poop, which is amazing! Can’t say enough great things about this company!

These guys are great. They come out for dog poop pick up when our previous service wouldn’t (rain, snow, etc). They are super friendly and I love that they send a photo of our gate locked after they are done. I would 100% recommend them!
Jodi Pickrel
Highly recommend! They were thorough, prompt, and did an excellent job on our yard. They even cleaned under our trampoline, which is sometimes skipped by other companies. They also send you a text before they arrive and a text with a photo of your gate secured after they are finished for extra peace of mind. I can’t say enough great things.

We LOVE this company!! We have used a different poop scooping company in the past, but this has been a completely different experience for the better. I have watched them cover every square inch of our back yard attentively and find piles that even I missed. They also graciously did some extra work when we had seven puppies here for a while. I highly recommend Turd Terminators to anyone!!

Still Have Questions?
While we tried our best to cover everything you might want to know, there’s a chance we may have “missed a spot.” Here are answers to the deodorizing service questions we get asked most.
How much does yard deodorizing cost?
Our yard deodorizing service is a simple add-on, billed monthly based on how often you’d like it:
- Once a month: $24.95
- Twice a month: $44.95
- Weekly: $79.95
Many yards start at twice a month to get ahead of built-up odor, then settle into a monthly treatment to keep things fresh.
Does yard deodorizing actually get rid of the smell, or just mask it?
Our proprietary formula actually gets rid of the smell instead of just covering it up like over-the-counter fragrance sprays. It breaks down the residue that’s causing the odor, so it doesn’t keep coming back.
How often should I have my yard deodorized?
For the best results, we usually recommend starting with twice-monthly treatments for the first couple of months to really knock out that built-up scent. After that, most yards can drop to once a month to keep things fresh and healthy through the season. Heavier-use yards and homes with several dogs may want to stick with the more frequent schedule.
How soon will I notice a difference after a yard deodorizing treatment?
You’ll typically notice an improvement after the first treatment. But odor that’s built up over months won’t disappear immediately. Each treatment builds on the last, knocking the smell down further and keeping it from creeping back. So the longer you stay on a regular schedule, the fresher your yard will stay.
Can my dogs and kids use the yard right after a deodorizing treatment?
Yes. We just recommend letting treated areas dry first, the same as you would after watering the lawn. Once dry, the yard is ready for normal play.
Do you offer yard deodorizing in the winter?
We focus deodorizing on the warmer months, roughly early spring through late fall, when odor is most active and you’re out enjoying your yard. Because cold weather naturally reduces the smell and most people aren’t spending much time outside, winter treatments aren’t typically necessary.
Do I have to sign up for scooping service to add yard deodorizing?
No, our scooping service isn’t required to add deodorizing. But you’ll get the most out of it if your yard is regularly scooped, since the treatment can focus on the odor that’s soaked in instead of fighting fresh waste on top of it. Pair the two and your yard stays both clean and fresh.
