Frequently Asked Questions

While we tried our best to cover everything you might want to know throughout our website, there’s a chance we may have “missed a spot.” Here are answers to the most frequently asked questions about our pet waste removal services.

How much does it cost to hire a professional pooper scooper?

At Turd Terminators®, our pooper scooper service plans start as low as just $49 per month. However, final pricing can vary depending on factors such as the size of your yard, frequency of service, and how many dogs you have. On average, most of our clients invest between $75 and $95 per month for regular, reliable clean-up. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

How often can I get my dog’s poop scooped?

We offer 2x weekly, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly, as well as one-time cleanups, so you can choose the schedule that works best for your needs and budget.

Do I have to sign a contract for pet waste removal services?

No contracts required! You can start, pause, or cancel your service anytime through your client portal or by simply giving us a call. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

Do you provide dog waste removal services all year round?

Yes! At Turd Terminators® we provide year-round residential and commercial pet waste removal, plus seasonal yard deodorizing services. The vast majority of waste stays scoopable no matter the season. Which means, even in the winter, if it snows, you can count on us to show up and produce a clean yard for your dog. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

How do you dispose of the pet waste after each cleanup?

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, dog waste is classified as a non-point source pollutant, so proper disposal is important. We can either remove it from your property for a small extra fee, or double-bag it and place it in your trash can, or neatly by the side of your house if you prefer to dispose of it yourself.

Will you clean with my dog in the yard?

Yes, we’re happy to clean with your dog in the yard! However, our team’s safety is our top priority. We ask that if your dog has ever shown signs of aggression, especially with individuals they’re unfamiliar with, you keep them inside during service. Failing to do so may result in missed service for the week or being completely removed from our route. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

How do you ensure the safety of my dog?

At Turd Terminators®, we take your dog’s health and safety seriously. We clean all equipment and shoes between yards using an organic, kennel-grade disinfectant to prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses like Giardia and Parvo. After every visit, we also take a gate photo so you know your pet won’t accidentally get out, and all team members are background checked for added peace of mind.

Do you clean the entire yard?

Absolutely! We clean all areas with dog waste, including front, back, side yards, flower beds, dog runs, and more.

What if you miss some waste in my yard?

That’s what our No Mess Left Behind Guarantee is for. If we ever miss something, let us know and our pooper scooper pros will be back out that same day to re-walk your whole yard, free. If you catch us after hours, we’re there first thing the next service day.

Can I schedule pet waste pickup on a specific day?

While we make every attempt to accommodate our customers’ requests in regards to scheduling, not every cleanup day is available in every service area. This is to ensure that we can optimize our routes and, in return, keep costs low.

Will I be notified when you’ll arrive on the day of my service?

While we can’t guarantee an exact arrival time, we do send a text roughly 60 minutes before we arrive to clean your yard.

Do I need to be home during the service?

Nope, no need to be home! As long as we have access to your yard, we’ll get the job done. For added convenience, you’ll also get a text when we’re on the way, so you know when to expect us. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

How much does yard deodorizing cost?

Our yard deodorizing service is a simple add-on, billed monthly based on how often you’d like it:

  • Once a month: $24.95
  • Twice a month: $44.95
  • Weekly: $79.95

Many yards start at twice a month to get ahead of built-up odor, then settle into a monthly treatment to keep things fresh.

Does yard deodorizing actually get rid of the smell, or just mask it?

Our proprietary formula actually gets rid of the smell instead of just covering it up like over-the-counter fragrance sprays. It breaks down the residue that’s causing the odor, so it doesn’t keep coming back.

How often should I have my yard deodorized?

For the best results, we usually recommend starting with twice-monthly treatments for the first couple of months to really knock out that built-up scent. After that, most yards can drop to once a month to keep things fresh and healthy through the season. Heavier-use yards and homes with several dogs may want to stick with the more frequent schedule.

How soon will I notice a difference after a yard deodorizing treatment?

You’ll typically notice an improvement after the first treatment. But odor that’s built up over months won’t disappear immediately. Each treatment builds on the last, knocking the smell down further and keeping it from creeping back. So the longer you stay on a regular schedule, the fresher your yard will stay.

Can my dogs and kids use the yard right after a deodorizing treatment?

Yes. We just recommend letting treated areas dry first, the same as you would after watering the lawn. Once dry, the yard is ready for normal play.

Do you offer yard deodorizing in the winter?

We focus deodorizing on the warmer months, roughly early spring through late fall, when odor is most active and you’re out enjoying your yard. Because cold weather naturally reduces the smell and most people aren’t spending much time outside, winter treatments aren’t typically necessary.

Do I have to sign up for scooping service to add yard deodorizing?

No, our scooping service isn’t required to add deodorizing. But you’ll get the most out of it if your yard is regularly scooped, since the treatment can focus on the odor that’s soaked in instead of fighting fresh waste on top of it. Pair the two and your yard stays both clean and fresh.

Do pet waste removal companies need to be licensed and insured?

The state of Nebraska requires pet waste removal companies to be licensed if they use chemicals for deodorizing or sanitizing. Since Turd Terminators® uses a natural, non-harmful enzyme yard deodorizer, we’re not required to be licensed. However, we are fully insured to protect against any accidents or injuries that may occur during service.

Where in Omaha do you offer pooper scooper services?

At present, we offer pet waste removal services in the following Ashland, Bennington, Elkhorn, Gretna, La Vista, Omaha, Papillion, and Ralston zip codes: 68003, 68007, 68010, 68022, 68046, 68104, 68028, 68114, 68116, 68118, 68122, 68124, 68127, 68128, 68130, 68134, 68135, 68136, 68137, 68138, 68142, 68144, 68154, 68164

How do you handle bad weather?

Our team’s safety is our top priority. If conditions like heavy rain, strong wind, or lightning make it unsafe to work, we’ll postpone your service to the next day. If that isn’t possible, we’ll return on your next scheduled service day. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

How will I know it’s you when you arrive?

Our pet waste removal technicians arrive in clearly marked Turd Terminators® vehicles and wear uniforms with our logo, so you can easily identify us.

How does the billing work for recurring services?

Payments for recurring pet waste removal services are due on the first day of each month prior to receiving services. The monthly fee is based on a 52-week calendar and averaged out over 12 months. For months with five weeks instead of four, you won’t be charged for the extra visit as it’s built into the monthly pricing. For additional information, check out our Service Policies.

What do you do if there’s an issue with the service?

Tell us right away and we’ll make it right. Text, call, or send a message through your client portal, and you’ll get a real person, not a call center. If we missed waste in your yard, that’s covered by our No Mess Left Behind Guarantee above.
